Job description

Training and Work Schedule

Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Saturday’s: possible mandatory hours- 9:00a.m-5: 30p.m

Pay Rate: $20.48 an hour

Nature & Scope:

The incumbent reports directly to the supervisor of selection/receiving. Functions in a department that exists in all areas of the warehouse operation, especially order selection, packing, receiving and put away of the product.

 

Job duties & Responsibilities

·         Read computer generated documents and perform tasks as directed

·         Cooperate with other warehouse employees

·         Miscellaneous duties to assist the company in its quest for growth (tent sales, promotions etc.)

·         Perform task accurately

·         Work from computer generated orders

·         Travel throughout the warehouse to pick up the orders

·         Assist with other projects assigned

·         Pack orders

·         Keep work area stocked with packaging materials.

·         Ensure that hazardous Material, ORMD and liquid are packed in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations

·         Review all items associated with a pick-ticket.

·         Mark the pick-ticket to indicate it was verified and accurate each step.

·         Move orders to the next correct station, if not accurate when packing.

·         Verify items and locations when receiving and performing tasks.

·         Complete all necessary documentation as they relate to the assigned task.

·         Assist shipping, receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchases

·         Reading customer orders, work order wise, shipping orders, or requestions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.

·         Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping, or to other designated place.

·         Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins, according to the pre-determined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.

·         Filling requisitions, work orders, or requested materials, tools or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage areas.

·         Ensuring warehouses is accessible and safe

·         Marking materials by identifying information using appropriate methods.

·         Opening bales, crates, and other containers.

·         Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

·         Assisting in counting physical inventory

·         Weighing and counting items to ensure conformance to company standards.

·         May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed

·         Preparing parcels for shipping and mailing.

·         Sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, or mopping

·         Organizing, warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.

Qualifications:

Education/Work history: Highschool diploma or equivalent. Reads and write English

Job Skills: Excellent human relations skills and interpersonal skills requested. Skills in conflict resolution needed. Accurate and timeliness are very important. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions. Personal computer and data entry skills, MS Excel and word is a plus

You must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
