Job description

Warehouse Associate

Shift: Tuesday - Friday 6:00am โ€“ 4:30pm (10 Hour Shift)

Scope of Role

The Warehouse Associate is primary responsibility is to pick and load product for outgoing delivery. In this role, you will select products from the Warehouse, load and secure goods to pallets, and move inventory to designated loading areas. You must comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

To ensure your success you need the ability to follow instructions and operate a forklift or other material handling equipment.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Reads customer delivery pick order, determines items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Drives forklift (reach truck, Order Picker, Turret Truck, Pallet Jack, Sit Down) to Pick/Pack and transport items.
  • Sorts and places material(s) or item(s) on racks, shelves, bins according to predetermined sequence (i.e. Size, type, style, color, or product code).
  • Uses a RF scanner to enter records and record data.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Stages material in proper area as designated by pick order ticket.
  • Gather, pack and stage materials to meet customer order demands.
  • Performs cycle counts.
  • Loads and unloads vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred 1 year work experience in a production or warehouse environment
  • Basic math and reading skills to perform job tasks and complete necessary paperwork
  • Ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English
  • Proficient in basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Ability to sit/walk/stand for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Willing to work at heights of 25 feet or more while secured by a harness

Language: English (Spanish/English) a plus

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position is done in a Warehouse environment typically indoors but may require access to outdoors for work at times. This position requires the ability to drive a forklift: Reach Truck, Order Picker and/or Turret Truck. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use fingers and hands, handle or feel controls or product; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry product. Frequently lifting/moving up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. is required. This position also requires a person to handle different temperatures as the Warehouse is hot in the summer and cooler in the winter. This position may also a person to stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours.
