Location: School Setting

The Therapy Transition Aide supports the delivery of school-based therapy services by safely escorting students to and from designated therapy rooms within the school. This position plays a vital role in ensuring students arrive for therapy sessions on time while maintaining a positive, supportive, and professional interaction with students, teachers, therapists, and other school staff. The Therapy Transition Aide serves as a reliable communication link between the classroom and therapy staff, helping therapy schedules run efficiently with minimal disruption to the educational environment.
What you'll do:
  • Escort students safely between classrooms and designated therapy areas according to established schedules.
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive demeanor while interacting with students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, office staff, and other school personnel regarding student pick-up and return times.
  • Verify student identities and follow school procedures for student transitions.
  • Assist students with navigating hallways while promoting safety and appropriate behavior.
  • Notify therapy staff and school personnel of scheduling conflicts, student absences, or other concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with HIPAA and district policies.
  • Document student transitions or attendance as required by school or therapy program procedures.
  • Follow all school safety protocols, emergency procedures, and visitor policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, and move between classrooms and therapy locations throughout the workday.
  • Ability to assist students during transitions while following safety procedures.
