We are currently looking for a full-time Campus Store Manager. The Campus Store Manager is responsible for general management of the Campus Store operation at Sullivan University. This includes overseeing selling, purchasing, receiving, inventory control, information systems, financial management and service-related activities.
Hours for the position will be Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:30 pm with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
Responsibilities of the position include:
  • Maintains knowledge of industry standards and innovations regarding store operations and information systems.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of policies and procedures of suppliers, publishers, distributors and other sources of supply and works with these vendors to ensure that the best prices are received by the university.
  • Facilitates the creation of the master course resource list (eBooks, textbooks, course packets, access codes, etc.) each academic term.
  • Oversee digital course materials to ensure all students are receiving e-text and courseware access in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures the Campus Store and online apparel store are operating efficiently and adequately.
  • Keeps the Campus Store stocked with supplies needed by students and employees.
  • Supervises and conducts monthly inventory counts. Conducts the yearly inventory as required by System Office.
  • Assists instructors in the selection process of new course materials and builds the course materials list for each class each academic term.
  • Orders eBooks, texts, course support materials, supplies and other items within an established timeframe.
  • Ensures that the costs of eBooks and other course support materials are billed to the correct academic college each academic term.
  • Accurately determines prices for books, supplies and other items received.
  • Ensures the weekly and yearly sales reports are completed accurately.
  • Greets customers, answers questions from students, faculty and staff, and assists with required supplies, books and other items.
  • Keeps store orderly according to standard of customer service.
  • Reports any issues or discrepancies of inventories to Vice President of Finance.
  • If sales volume or workload dictate an expansion of personnel, the manager is responsible for necessary training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years of related work experience, preferably in a campus store or retail operation.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Apparel and retail marketing experience, including merchandise selection preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing, merchandising, budgeting, inventory control and POS systems.
  • Experience with VitalSource, VitalSource Manage, and Verba Connect preferred
  • Working knowledge of BlackBoard Ultra preferred
  • Familiarity with Canva preferred
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient abilities in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Point-Of-Sale systems.
  • Ability to compute cost and sales margins and reconcile cash and sales receipts.
  • Ability to function efficiently in a stressful work environment.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty and staff face-to-face and via telephone.
