Job description

The City of Hampton is seeking a part time lead facilitator to develop and conduct instructional training, coaching, and programming for adults, youth, and families to prepare, inform, and support the child and family development of Hampton residents

This is to meet a key Hampton strategic focus of ensuring family resilience and economic empowerment. The class works under close supervision according to set procedures. Minimum Requirements Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

An Associate's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Human Services or related field is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience or group facilitation with adults, youth and/or children or closely related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.

Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to an offer of employment or promotion. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy.

Additional Requirements Must meet all standards as a mandated reporter for child abuse and neglect. Must have CPR and Basic First Aid certification. Must be knowledgeable of computers and software applications to include Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher.

The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during city emergency situations, or at the direction of the City Manager or designee which may include long hours and unusual schedules. Click here for a complete job description.
