Job description

Urban Outfitters is looking for an experienced Home and Flats Assistant Stylist to join our in-house photo studio. The Assistant Stylist is responsible for still-life styling across multiple product categories, such as accessories, apparel, beauty, gifting, home decor, furniture, and lifestyle. The ideal candidate has a refined eye for composition and detail, understands how to bring product stories to life through styling, and can execute at a high-level in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment.


  • Support the execution of flat lay, tabletop, and home lifestyle photography for e-commerce and creative projects while maintaining the Urban Outfitters visual aesthetic.
  • Assist in styling across multiple product categories including accessories, apparel, beauty, gifting, home decor, furniture, and lifestyle.
  • Partner closely with Styling, Photography, and Art Direction to execute creative direction and bring product stories to life that are both compelling and commercially aligned.
  • Maintain a collaborative and inclusive presence on set, contributing to a positive studio culture.
  • Prepare products and props in advance of shoots, assisting in prop sourcing and set preparation in order to support daily studio needs.
  • Maintain overall studio organization, ensuring efficiency and ease of workflow.
  • Contribute creative ideas and inspiration through trend research, customer awareness, and styling references.
  • Stay informed on current fashion, home, design, and cultural trends to support evolving visual storytelling.

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Visual Arts, Interior Design, Photography, Merchandising, or a related field preferred; or equivalent internship and/or professional experience.
  • 1–2 years of relevant styling experience or related creative experience preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating an interest in still life styling, home styling, fashion styling, or visual storytelling.
  • Collaborative and positive attitude with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong eye for visual composition, color, texture, and proportion.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced studio environment.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and adaptable with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Familiarity with the Urban Outfitters brand aesthetic and customer preferred.
