LIFEGUARD

Who is a Lifeguard?

The Lifeguard will ensure the health and well-being of members and guests in the pool, whirlpool and on the pool deck. The Lifeguard will closely monitor Aqua Group Fitness classes and Family Swim to ensure the safety of all participants and enforce proper rules. The Lifeguard will respond to emergencies in the pool and on the pool deck and act as first responder if needed.


Job Summary:

  • Maintains constant surveillance of members and guests in the pool, whirlpool and pool deck; acts immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of all participants in the event of emergency.
  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Enforces pool rules in an appropriate, fair and equitable manner and explain the rationale for the rule(s) when needed.
  • Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. This includes light cleaning and water chemistry testing.
  • Assist in ensuring ongoing equipment and facility maintenance as well as Club cleanliness by communicating any deficiencies to the General Manager without delay.
  • Ensure proper administration and completion of any necessary paperwork


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 6 months to 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Basic understanding of pool operation and water chemistry.
  • Holder of current National Lifeguard Service's Lifeguard Certificate, dated no more than 2 years from date of shift, this includes CPR-C.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Customer focused with interpersonal savvy
  • Decision making skills
  • Must be committed to contributing to a culture that celebrates diversity, equity and inclusion and embraces social and environmental responsibility

Compensation:

It is expected that the selected candidate will start at a base wage of $20.00. The expected annual total compensation is $6,800 determined by the expected total number of scheduled hours per year.
