Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Ontario Environmental Testing sales strategy to achieve revenue growth, market share, and profitability goals.
  • Translate corporate objectives into annual business plans, sales targets, and measurable KPIs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Business Development team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer-focused selling.
  • Provide executive leadership with market intelligence, sales analytics, forecasting, and strategic recommendations.

Business Development

  • Drive new business growth by expanding existing accounts, developing strategic client relationships, and identifying new market opportunities.
  • Lead complex consultative sales opportunities from prospecting through contract execution while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Build executive-level relationships with environmental consultants, municipalities, utilities, industrial clients, government agencies, engineering firms, developers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Represent Bureau Veritas at industry conferences, networking events, and customer meetings to strengthen market presence and generate new business.

Market Strategy & Innovation

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and regulatory changes to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new services and markets while leveraging digital technologies, AI, and data analytics to improve commercial performance and customer experience.
  • Partner with Operations, Marketing, Laboratory Leadership, and Executive Management to align commercial strategy with operational excellence.

Sales Operations

  • Manage Salesforce CRM to maintain pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and sales performance reporting.
  • Monitor KPIs, budgets, revenue forecasts, and profitability while implementing strategies to exceed business objectives.
  • Lead RFQ/RFP responses, contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and proposal development.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate across laboratory operations, customer service, marketing, finance, and executive leadership to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas quality, safety, and ethical standards while serving as a trusted commercial advisor internally and externally.
Required Education and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline is required.

  • MBA or graduate-level business education is considered a strong asset.


Experience

    • 10+ years of progressive sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience within the environmental laboratory testing industry or a closely related environmental services sector.

    • Demonstrated success leading high-performing sales teams while consistently achieving or exceeding aggressive revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.

    • Proven experience developing and executing strategic sales plans for complex technical or scientific services.

    • Strong understanding of environmental analytical testing, laboratory services, regulatory frameworks, and the environmental consulting marketplace.

    • Experience selling to environmental consulting firms, municipalities, utilities, industrial clients, government agencies, engineering firms, developers, energy companies, and other environmental stakeholders.

    • Proven ability to build executive-level relationships and influence key decision-makers across both public and private sector organizations.

    • Experience leading complex, consultative sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams.

    • Demonstrated success identifying emerging market opportunities and translating market intelligence into profitable business strategies.

    • Experience using business intelligence, data analytics, and market insights to guide commercial decision-making and improve sales performance.

    • Strong financial acumen, including revenue forecasting, budgeting, pipeline management, pricing strategy, and business planning.

This posting is for an existing vacancy. The salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000 with a 25% target bonus.

Our salary ranges reflect the range of skills and experience required for the posted position. The final offer amount for this role will depend on geographical region, applicable experience, internal equity, and the skillset of the candidate.
