What is the opportunity?

The primary role of the incumbent is to support the team who executes control assessment activities, which evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls in line with RBC's Internal Control Policy and Standard. The incumbent will support risk management practices and control assessment programs. The incumbent works closely with and reports to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Control Testing.

The incumbent is expected to be a key liaison, working closely in partnership between business partners, and managing stakeholder engagement.

What will you do?

  • Supports strategic activities to help us deliver on key regulatory commitments for control assessments.
  • Perform control assessment activities in line with Enterprise policies and standards.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc assignments/special process improvement projects to enhance maturity of the program/increase efficiencies etc.
  • Participate in regular discussions with Management on strategies, work plans and other matters.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of tools utilized to execute and memorialize risk assessments and control testing.

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on business, risk management, finance, mathematics, statistics, or engineering.
  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment

  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working on projects and thriving in ambiguity

Please note:This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of April 2027. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
