SummaryThe Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The Radiologic Technologist role is an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician's direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.DescriptionJob Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
  • Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
  • Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift
  • Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read
  • Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment
  • Immediately report any equipment malfunctions to management team
  • Helps patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergencies
  • Perform collection of throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing
  • Assist in processing of laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testing
  • Apply splints, ace wraps and DME devices on patients
  • Provide patient with crutches and proper use education
  • Be an integral part of the patient care team
  • Keep exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate supplies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Assisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed
Qualifications
  • Graduated from Radiologic Technologist program
  • Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic's processes, and procedures
  • Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
  • Knowledge of digital imaging
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred)
