Job description

Role: Business Analyst (EPIC)

Position is onsite. Candidates must already live in Florida. (Locals Only)

6+ months

BA not a developer with the ability to “test” in the highlighted environments.

Description of Major Duties & Deliverables

They will be responsible for understanding the MEPIC business processes and requirements captured. This highly professional position on the team will contribute to managing and ensuring quality software development results of the new MEPIC system, under the leadership of the assigned FDLE Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a passion for both business analysis and testing.

Business Analyst responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

Business Analysis:

Collaborate with project stakeholders and development team to define business requirements and translate them into User Story, Use Cases documents, as needed.

Analyzing business functional and nonfunctional requirements to help define and design process flow diagrams and wireframes to meet the requirements.

Maintain the information accurately within the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) mapping the functional/nonfunctional requirements to use cases.

Work closely with the development team to ensure that business requirements are correctly understood and implemented.

Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and system requirements, as needed.

Review project high level requirements, understand and prepare for customer JAD (Joint Application Development) session.

Conduct JAD sessions with customer, document meeting notes and action items and update Use Case accordingly.

 Testing:

Conduct manual testing of applications without reliance on testing tools, using methodical approaches.

Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and approved Use Cases.

Perform different types of testing, including but not be limited to functional, regression, integration, ADA/508, Security and smoke.

Identify and report bugs in JIRA, track them to resolution, and work with the development team to resolve issues.

Develop, validate, and maintain User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Plan, Test scenarios, UAT test cases, ensuring consistency and usability among all.

Performing test case scenarios for the upgraded system, prepare test accounts, test data, following the FDLE methodology of development testing, System testing, and User Acceptance Testing.

Assist in user acceptance testing, document UAT Test results with defects status.

Assist in performance and stress testing, develop test scripts, execute and document Performance test results.

Collaboration & Communication:

Liaise with the development team and stakeholders to ensure proper implementation of functional requirements.

Communicate progress, challenges, and results of the testing process to the project team.

Participate in project meetings to provide insights from both a business analysis and testing perspective.

Responsible for assisting with the coordination of project deliverables associated with quality control testing.

 

Identify and document metrics for success in quality control testing.

Effective communication among all project stakeholders.

Coordinate activities with FDLE staff required to support the project for testing.

Assist with the production implementation as needed.

 Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in gathering and documenting business requirements (functional and non-functional) on full life cycle development projects.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience conducting JAD sessions, define business process and document meeting notes and action items.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in writing user story and use cases.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience creating comprehensive Test Plans.

Experience and knowledgeable of software testing methods and best practices.

Experience in creating and maintaining test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.

Experience in functional, regression, system integration, security, performance and user acceptance testing.

Experience in testing to adhere to Section 508/ADA compliance in web applications.

Experience querying data in tables to verify data insert/update/delete to tables, to produce quality testing results.

Strong attention to detail, quality minded with results oriented.

Strong analytical skills.

 Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience and technical knowledge working with MS SQL and ORACLE database environments.

Experience as a BA in J2EE developed software projects
