Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS

As a Sr. Test Engineer at MKS, you will partner with Principal and Senior Test Engineers, Product Support engineers, and test technicians to support the deployment, development, and documentation of automated test systems used across our global high-volume service sites.

You Will Make an Impact By
  • Train under Principal and Senior Test Engineers to master the electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, pressure, flow, and software characteristics of our automated test systems used in the high-volume service sites.
  • Provide hands‑on technical assistance to Product Support engineers and test stand technicians to identify root causes of product or test system anomalies.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and documentation of automated test systems, hardware, software, and test fixtures for global service depots.
  • Perform verification and validation of duplicate test systems before global deployment to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
  • Use LabVIEW or similar automated test platforms to troubleshoot, analyze, and diagnose Unit Under Test (UUT) and test stand issues.
  • Participate in the development of automated test applications, review system documentation, and analyze test data using tools such as Minitab and statistical process controls.
Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+years of experience working directly with automated test systems/stands in a high-volume manufacturing or service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to support or lead technical projects, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • A highly motivated, self-driven individual with a positive and proactive approach to complex problem-solving.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and outstanding skills enabling effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Good computer skills with a working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW or similar graphical programming tools or with CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Hands‑on experience with lab test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, waveform generators, and DAQ hardware.
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems, pressure and flow measurement, and control systems.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Pay Range: $80,909.00 TO $150,259.00 USD per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
