JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description and Overview-1st, 2nd, and weekend compressed shifts available.
Axcelis is a leading provider of Ion Implantation systems serving the semiconductor industry. Our products are making the technology of the future possible. Our dynamic manufacturing organization is responsible for delivering these complex solutions to our world-wide customer base. The Final Test Department consists of engineers that are responsible for executing quality control tests internal to the factory as well as travel to various customer sites world-wide to support the installation of newly delivered systems.
As a Final Test Engineer, you will be working in an exciting, fast paced manufacturing environment testing newly built ion implanter systems for delivery to customers worldwide. This is a very cross-disciplined, hands on job focused on troubleshooting, quality, and assembly. You will learn about and work directly with various sub-systems, including:
  • Control Systems
  • Vacuum Systems
  • Virtual Machines
  • Robotics
  • Ion beam generation and delivery

At the same time, you will be asked to develop your interpersonal skills, working in a team environment, and interfacing directly with assemblers, design engineers, software engineers and management, as well as customer or vendor engineers and operators. Must be willing to spend as much as 20% of your time travelling, including destinations overseas (China, S. Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, US, and EU).
Specific Responsibilities
  • Execute quality control testing on newly built Ion Implant Systems.
  • Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose functionality problems discovered during test and implement corrective actions to enable continuation of testing.
  • Document in detail all the required interventions at test to allow for preventative actions for various build areas and design teams.
  • Travel with fellow Final Test Engineers to customer sites to support onsite testing of newly delivered systems to enable production readiness.

Experience/Levels
  • Final Test Engineer I is an entry level position for those with a BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering or Physics.

Shift Schedule
  • 1st: Monday - Thursday 5:30 am - 4:00 pm
  • 2nd: Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm - 2:00 am - additional 10% pay differential
  • Weekend: Fri, Sat, Sun 5:00 am - 5:00 pm

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE
$29.14 - $43.71
This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.
Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on
multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work
location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as
you develop within the role.
Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the
Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular
employees working 20+ hours a week).
