Test Engineer (Entry-Level)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Test Engineer for Heath, Ohio (35 minutes East of Columbus, Ohio) to conduct development and overhaul of re-design strategies, that effect both hardware and software, for test equipment used in the mechanical and electronics testing of U.S. Strategic Deterrence Systems for the U.S. Air Force Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Guidance Systems, U.S. Air Force & U.S. Navy Guidance Systems, and other military programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of and ability to perform tasks supporting a project management-based gated process, also known as a phase-gate process
  • Assist in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods
  • Assist in developing test procedures, and in the instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk
  • Assist in component design and sub-assembly level hardware or software and use analytical tools to verify design
  • Assist in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware
  • Assist in identifying solutions to basic problems and support the development of metrology processes, methods, and tools
  • Participate in evaluation of test performance data
  • Help review test data for accuracy, quality, and/or fidelity; alert senior engineers of off nominal data and prepare test reports for review prior to delivery to customer
  • Supports development of test debrief material
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience).

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Related engineering experience through internships, co-ops, or academic projects
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience with test software development and/or support, inclusive of NI LabVIEW, Microsoft Visual Studio, or other comparable programming languages.
  • Knowledge of or experience in laboratory testing, data analysis, instrumentation, system integration, manufacturing.
  • Experience working on government or DoD programs.
