Associate Test Engineer II (Electro-Mechanical Systems Integration)

We are seeking a highly capable Associate Test Engineer II to support the assembly, integration, calibration, and testing of precision electro-mechanical measurement systems in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role intended for experienced technicians or degreed candidates who bring strong technical fundamentals and are continuing to grow into broader system-level ownership and leadership.

In this role, you will work on advanced instrumentation and complex system builds, applying sound technical judgment to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and ensure systems meet performance and quality requirements. You will also begin to take on increased responsibility in process development, problem-solving leadership, and peer support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on assembly, integration, calibration, alignment, and final system testing of electro-mechanical subsystems and full systems.
  • Execute and support development of system-level test procedures, including troubleshooting and resolving electrical, mechanical, and integrated system issues.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.
  • Troubleshoot at the component, subsystem, and system level, and perform rework or adjustments as required.
  • Utilize test and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, sensors, and alignment/mechanical measurement tools.
  • Work with and support test system software, including running automated test sequences, collecting data, and assisting with basic troubleshooting or feedback on test programs.
  • Assist in developing and improving test methods, procedures, and documentation, particularly for new or evolving products.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including system bring-up, build improvements, and knowledge transfer into production.
  • Provide informal technical guidance and training to peers and help drive best practices on the floor.
  • Document results through clear test records, issue tracking, and technical feedback to engineering.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve product performance and manufacturability.
Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical assembly, integration, and troubleshooting of complex systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot beyond basic issues, with growing capability in system-level diagnostics and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with test system software or automated test environments (running test scripts, interpreting results, basic debugging support).
  • Proficiency using test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, sensors, motion systems, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, CAD drawings, and procedures.
  • Skilled in using precision hand tools and measurement devices with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an analytical approach and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to handle routine work independently and take initiative on more complex assignments.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with precision measurement systems, motion control, or instrumentation equipment.
  • Exposure to test automation, data acquisition systems, or control software.
  • Experience supporting engineering builds or manufacturing transfers (NPI).
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices (5S, structured problem solving, etc.).
  • Technical certification / military training / vocational training with 5-7+ years of hands-on electro-mechanical experience or
  • 10+ years of demonstrated manufacturing experience in a precision technology environment
