Job description

OVERVIEW

iTech AG is seeking a ServiceNow System Administrator to support enterprise ServiceNow platform environments across federal and commercial clients. The System Administrator may support greenfield implementations, initial platform stand-up, existing mature environments, a single instance stack, or multiple enterprise instance stacks.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform administrator responsible for ensuring the ServiceNow environment is secure, stable, upgrade-safe, and aligned with platform best practices. This includes supporting configuration, integrations, security controls, testing, governance, and ongoing platform operations in structured enterprise environments that emphasize scalability, compliance, and federal standards where applicable.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Platform Administration and Configuration
    • Administer and maintain ServiceNow instances across development, test, and production environments
    • Configure core platform components including users, groups, roles, access controls, system properties, platform settings, and reference data
    • Support platform setup for new environments and assist in foundational instance configuration
    • Maintain platform stability through proactive monitoring, controlled configuration, and ServiceNow administration best practices
    • Manage Role-Based Access Control, Access Control Lists, user criteria, and data visibility rules for applications such as Knowledge Management and Service Catalog
    • Configure and support LDAP integration, SSO authentication, and platform security hardening activities
  • Platform Operations and Lifecycle Management
    • Manage update sets, application promotions, and release migration activities
    • Support ServiceNow Store and application repository updates, including scoped application lifecycle management
    • Perform and coordinate instance cloning activities across environments
    • Support platform upgrades, patching, and regression validation
    • Review system logs, performance metrics, and error reports to proactively resolve issues
  • Testing, Quality Assurance, and Platform Data
    • Develop and execute structured test plans for platform changes
    • Build and maintain Automated Test Framework test suites
    • Support regression testing, validation, and User Acceptance Testing during upgrades and releases
    • Maintain integrity of CMDB records, configuration items, relationships, reference data, and core platform data structures
    • Administer Knowledge Management, including lifecycle, publishing, and access controls
    • Ensure test evidence and documentation support audit and compliance requirements
  • Integrations, Governance, Monitoring, and Collaboration
    • Support validation and troubleshooting of platform integrations, including REST/SOAP data flows as applicable
    • Support platform governance processes, including change workflows, release controls, naming conventions, configuration standards, and citizen development guardrails
    • Monitor instance health, respond to platform incidents, troubleshoot issues using logs and diagnostics, maintain documentation, and collaborate with developers, architects, security teams, and business stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of ServiceNow administration experience
  • Hands-on experience administering and supporting ServiceNow environments across development, test, and production instances
  • Strong understanding of user, group, and role administration; ACLs and security model fundamentals; system properties and platform configuration; and update sets and release promotion processes
  • Experience with LDAP integration and SSO configuration
  • Experience supporting platform testing and structured validation efforts
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret system logs and platform behavior

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting greenfield ServiceNow implementations
  • Experience in federal, public sector, or highly regulated environments
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification
  • Experience with Automated Test Framework
  • Exposure to CMDB governance and data model best practices
  • Experience supporting platform upgrades and clone strategy execution
  • Familiarity with Agile or DevSecOps delivery models
  • Experience supporting scoped applications and ServiceNow Store applications
  • Exposure to platform governance or Center of Excellence models
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations
