About the Company Tesla Laboratories is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing Cyber Security, Intelligence Analysis, Financial Management, Facilities Engineering Services, and Program Management support to the Intelligence Community (IC), the Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal government customers. Job Description
• Expertise and services in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning design capability, providing specifications and designs utilizing the most recent versions of computer aided design software.
• Calculations for air flow, heat load, and controls required to develop designs which include the proper specification of equipment, ductwork, and ancillary systems for chilled water fed units and direct expansion units for large administrative buildings, production facilities, and warehouses.
• Sequence of operations as required for air handlers, chillers, and controls as part of design packages.
• Activation and test plans to ensure all designed equipment has specified testing plans to ensure compliance with Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA), ASHRAE and other industry standards.
• System piping expertise, including the ability to develop high fidelity riser diagrams, perform flow calculations, and to provide specifications for piping systems, including piping, valves, backflow preventers, strainers, expansion tanks, insulation, and proper material selections.
• Expertise in chilled water, hot water, potable water, and waste-water design.
• Controls expertise and proficiency and knowledge in the installation and operation of direct digital controls and/or programmable logic units used to support large facility integrated environmental controls.
• Security and fire protection systems expertise to support Lenel® security systems and Siemens® and JCI® fire alarm systems, to include the ability to develop system designs and specifications, and to provide oversight of the installation, test, and maintenance of these systems.
• Oversight of the design and construction of mechanical systems for facility and infrastructure projects including but not limited to: building construction, pumps, condensers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, valves, tanks, piping, HVAC, finite element analysis, water and air flow analysis, and computational fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency with SMACNA, ASHRAE, and other mechanical industry standards.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 12 years' experience in mechanical engineering. Professional Engineering license preferred.
