Overview Job Title: Dock Master Location: Reston, VA Introduction:Rivet Operations Company ("Rivet") has openings for multiple Dock Masters. This position will support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) providing enterprise logistics support. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the Department of Defense (DoD) and a leader in physical and cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, process improvement and development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Experience coordinating inbound / outbound trucks, assigning dock doors, managing yard/dock flow, and controlling congestion to meet schedules.
• Ability to plan and supervise loading / unloading activities, including staging, seal control (if used), and verification of counts / condition.
• Experience maintaining dock logs and records (truck arrival / departure times, bills of lading / delivery receipts, transfer / turn-in paperwork, discrepancy and damage reports).
• Working knowledge of OSHA-aligned dock safety practices (dock plates / levelers, chocking / wheel restraints, trailer inspection, pedestrian control, spill response, PPE enforcement).
• Ability to stop work for unsafe conditions and document/report incidents.
• Familiarity with chain of custody / signature controls and controlled access procedures as required by the site.
• Ability to coordinate with schedulers / dispatch, warehouse staff, drivers, security / access control, and designated representatives. • Personnel performing on this effort shall be U.S. citizens.
• Personnel are required to have and maintain a security clearance as well as be able to successfully clear a background investigation.
• High School Diploma or GED with minimum 3 years of experience in loading dock operations, warehouse shipping / receiving, or transportation terminal operations.
• Strong communication skills and basic proficiency with email and spreadsheets for reporting and status updates.
• Safety Management, HAZMAT is required. Security:Personnel are required to have an active TS/SCI clearance upon hire. Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time as well as repeated walking. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted.
