Summary of Job Duties:*This is a temporary position*
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) welcomes applications from candidates who desire to be part of a dynamic and supportive team.
Qualifications:
  • M.D. or equivalent degree required.

  • American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) certified or eligible for certification in Psychiatry, with the expectation of becoming certified as per the UAMS bylaws.

  • Eligibility for and subsequent success in obtaining an unrestricted Arkansas medical license, malpractice insurance, and credentialing by central Arkansas teaching hospitals are required.

  • Successful candidates will be excellent clinicians as well as outstanding teachers or researchers, able to work collaboratively, and enjoy being part of a team that is accomplishing more than any individual can accomplish.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows

  • Working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Providing excellent clinical care, including evidence-based psychiatric diagnostic assessment and treatment

  • Completing medical records according to professional standards and in a timely manner using the UAMS EMR system

  • Performing additional duties to the College, University, and profession as assigned.
