Inside Turf Sales Representative
Atlantic Tractor -- John Deere Dealership

Queen Anne, Maryland


Position Summary

The Inside Turf Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling John Deere turf equipment and related aftermarket products and services from the dealership location. This position focuses on delivering an exceptional customer experience, identifying customer needs, developing lasting relationships, and driving sales growth within the turf product segment. The Inside Turf Sales Representative serves as a product expert and trusted advisor for customers seeking Commercial Mowers, Compact Tractors, Residential Turf Equipment, and related solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience by identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate equipment, attachments, parts, and services.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers to generate repeat business and referrals.

  • Achieve and exceed established sales goals for turf equipment, attachments, parts, and aftermarket services.

  • Maintain a professional, organized, and customer-friendly appearance of the showroom, equipment lot, and sales displays.

  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of John Deere turf products, including Commercial Mowers, Compact Tractors, Residential Lawn Equipment, Utility Vehicles, and related attachments.

  • Prepare and present equipment demonstrations, product comparisons, and sales proposals.

  • Assist customers with financing options, equipment specifications, warranty information, and product selection.

  • Follow up on customer inquiries, quotes, and sales opportunities in a timely and professional manner.

  • Collaborate with Parts, Service, and Administrative departments to ensure excellent customer support and satisfaction.

  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and prospect information utilizing dealership software and CRM systems.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive products, pricing strategies, and market conditions.

  • Participate in trade shows, county fairs, customer appreciation events, and other promotional activities to increase brand awareness and generate sales leads.

  • Assist with inventory management, equipment merchandising, and lot organization as needed.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, tablets, telephones, and other office equipment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and vendors in person and by telephone.

  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to access equipment, displays, and sales materials.

  • Ability to safely climb on and off turf equipment, compact tractors, utility vehicles, and other equipment for demonstrations and inspections.

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions while assisting customers and demonstrating equipment.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, marketing, agriculture, or a related field preferred.

  • Previous sales, customer service, retail, agricultural, turf, landscaping, or equipment industry experience preferred.

  • Strong desire to build a career in equipment sales and customer relationship management.

  • Go-getter attitude with a passion for meeting new people and developing customer relationships.
