Job Description
An established textile manufacturer is seeking a Warphanger to support knitting operations in a hands-on production environment. In this role, you will assemble, prepare, move, and load warp beam sets onto knitting machines while ensuring components are properly aligned and secured. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safe material-handling practices. The role requires extended periods of standing and walking and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assemble warp beam sets by checking and changing shaft bearings and applying spacers and collars.
  • Select and mount beams on large steel shafts and load completed warp beam sets onto knitting machines.
  • Operate a hoist to safely move warp beams and lower and hang them in knitting machines.
  • Inspect beam alignment, collars, and end caps to ensure components are correctly positioned, secured, and tightened.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following established safety and housekeeping practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, including a pry bar and wrench.
  • Ability to understand measurements, maintain accurate records, and demonstrate strong visual attention to detail.
  • Forklift certification required; employer-provided training is available.
  • Ability to use a step ladder and apply up to 50 pounds of force while using hand tools.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Steel-toe safety shoes and hearing protection required.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with others.
