Global Category Manager IS/IT, ABB Robotics

This Position reports to: Global Procurement Manager

Are you ready to take on a strategic role in procurement and supply chain management within a global technology leader? We are looking for a Global Category Manager IS/IT to join our team and drive sourcing excellence, supplier collaboration, and cost optimization across international markets.

As part of ABB, you will contribute to shaping procurement strategies that ensure quality, reliability, and sustainability while supporting business growth and innovation. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment where your expertise will make a real impact.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring supplier capability and capacity for current and future needs.
  • Negotiate agreements with key suppliers, manage contracts, and oversee ongoing supplier relationships.
  • Lead planning and tracking of procurement activities, budgets, and savings forecasts.
  • Drive cost-out programs and initiatives to achieve financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with our procurement standards, code of conduct, and global/local policies.

You will work closely with your colleagues on procurement as well as our vendor managers in the IS-team. We are now building a new IS‑infrastructure as a own company fully owned by the Softbank investment company. You are joining a company within AI and Robotic area that are ready to move for better ISIT‑infrastructure.

Preferred location for this position is Mexico and USA, Robotics is located in Auburn Hills.

Background
  • Proven experience of a minimum of 5 years in procurement, category management, or supply chain management in an international environment within IS/IT. It is an absolute requirement of handling ISIT suppliers in the category management area.
  • It is a strong merit if you have been negotiating and worked with a wide range of Suppliers such as hardware, software and ERP‑suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, performance management, and data analysis.
  • University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to build high‑performing teams. Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
