Recording Secretary (Part time)

Details

  • Part Time (Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal Status), non-exempt
  • $20- $23/hour, depending on qualifications
  • Reports to City Clerk
  • Located at Eden Prairie City Center
  • Hours vary, approximately 1-3 evenings/month

Responsibilities

The Recording Secretary provides clerical support to the City Clerk related to City Council, Board and/or Commission meetings. This position is primarily responsible for the following areas of impact:

  • Attends Board and/or Commission meetings as scheduled.
  • Summarizes information while capturing decisions made and the thought process that led to them.
  • Produces an accurate, concise, and complete record of the meeting in a timely manner and free of typographical, grammatical and technical errors.

While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements

  • High School Degree required (or GED equivalent)
  • Proficiency in MS Word required
  • Must be available to work evenings
  • Experience in taking official minutes required, experience in City government preferred.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass the Cityโ€™s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, work verification.
