Remote Litigation Associate Attorney | Position Type: Temporary/Contract

Our client, a well-established civil law firm based in Amarillo, Texas, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team on a temporary contract basis to provide coverage during a maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys contract assignments and is looking for meaningful litigation work with the flexibility of working remotely.

The firm's cloud-based ProLaw case management system allows attorneys to seamlessly access files and work from anywhere.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a variety of commercial litigation matters involving business, real estate, and employment law disputes.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

  • Manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery, document review, and depositions.

  • Assist with trial preparation and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials as needed.

  • Accurately track and bill time in accordance with firm policies.

  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to provide exceptional client service.

Qualifications
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

  • 3 or more years of civil litigation experience.

  • Experience with commercial litigation involving businesses, real estate, and/or employment law preferred.

  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while meeting deadlines.

  • Experience with timekeeping and hourly billing is required.

  • Familiarity with ProLaw is a plus but not required.
