Recruits and screens applicants for positions within Jefferson. Matches applicants' qualifications to job requirements and refers qualified applicants to appropriate departments for interviews. Performs special projects as assigned.

Job Duties

  • Recruits, screens and refers applicants for new or existing positions within Jefferson, utilizing knowledge of specific job requirements.
  • Responsible for conducting lawful employment interviews.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with Jefferson department heads, supervisors, and personnel in other organizations, agencies, and educational institution.
  • Reviews hiring criteria and prepares recruitment plan with hiring supervisors, assuring that appropriate grade level is established.
  • Gathers information needed to recruit, and utilizes creative resources to identify qualified applicants.
  • Assures supervisors' receipt of applications and Jefferson Service Standards as appropriate.
  • Negotiates salary offers with supervisors and compensation personnel and extends salary offers, including start date and orientation attendance.
  • Verifies references, education, and licenses/certifications of job candidates.
  • Prepares recruitment advertisements for newspapers, websites, journals, and postings.
  • Controls individual advertising budget for recruitment responsibilities.
  • Utilized database, web, and other creative resources to source qualified applicants. Maintains and controls usage of classified ads.
  • Performs special projects as assigned by Manager. Interacts with the general public and representatives of other institutions as requested.
  • Enters all relevant applicant and new hire data into Workday and arranges new hire processing schedule.
  • Completes agreements of employment and prepares offer letters and paperwork for newly hired employees, inclusive of scheduling physicals and sign-in.
  • Performs courtesy interviews for applicants. Provides consulting services to Jefferson Management re: hiring process, and provides counseling to employees being displaced or those interested in career development.
  • Teaches training classes to Jefferson Management regarding hiring, selection and, onboarding policies and procedures. As well as other related Employment materials.
  • Prepares activity reports and develops projects as requested by Manager
  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Demonstrates creative and aggressive proactive recruitment alternatives, particularly in critical job categories.
  • Interacts with external employment and advertising representatives.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED HS Diploma or equivalent r
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 year Recruitment experience in a comparable organization and performance of duties similar to those enumerated. Experience in the utilization of support staff beneficial
  • Experience with agency or temporary staffing preferred

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
