Job Description
As an integral member of the Mendoza Events & Engagement team, the Event Operations Specialist (Temp) serves as the primary planner and onsite lead for the Mendoza College of Business' Fall Tailgate series. This role manages end-to-end logistics and \"run-of-show\" execution, ensuring a premium, high-touch experience for alumni, donors, faculty, and VIP guests during the peak football season.
Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics & Compliance: Manage vendors (catering, décor, rentals), process payments, and ensure all events meet University outdoor event policies and documentation requirements.
  • Onsite Execution: Direct the physical setup, strike, and \"run-of-show,\" maintaining high standards for branding, atmosphere, and site cleanliness.
  • Guest & Data Management: Oversee attendee check-in and manage real-time RSVP data using Cvent.
  • Problem Solving: Act as the autonomous \"boots on the ground\" lead to resolve logistical or technical challenges and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Team Collaboration: Partner with Event Managers to coordinate tailgates linked to academic conferences and College programming.

Requirements
  • Availability: Must work all home football games Saturdays and Friday afternoon prep sessions.
  • Physical: Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours in various weather conditions and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Professionalism: High-level interpersonal skills for engaging with executive leadership and donors.

Additional Information
Compensation: $18/hour
