Job description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer I to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components that meet precise specifications. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our production efficiency and product quality, ensuring that we maintain our commitment to excellence in manufacturing.

JOB DESCRIPTION (Key Responsibilities)

  • Ability to write programs that will machine complex parts to very close tolerances (.0005) on multiple axes on various machining centers.

  • Horizontal Machining Centers including Macro, sub program and variable programming knowledge.

  • 4 axis lathes, 5 axis lathes, Y axis lathes, and Vertical Machining Centers large and small

  • โ€œShop Floorโ€ problem solving.

  • Maintain program libraries and revision status of program revisions per NADCAP requirements.

  • Hands-on knowledge of the programs storage and the ability to assist shop associates in uploading and downloading programs

  • Ability to select appropriate inserts based on material and machining requirements

KEY COMPETENCIES FOR THE POSITION

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a technical field desired or 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial technical field, programming CNC equipment is required. Experience programming using CAM software is preferred.

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Willingness to work directly with machinist on ensuring quality and reliability of programs generated.

  • Ability to determine cycle time and track insert life

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus

  • Excellent computer skills (CAD/CAM, Auto Cad, Shop Cam, Solid Works, Master Cam word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.) are required.

  • Skilled in- G and M code editing, Macro style programming, multi axis function(s) and Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak controllers

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management

  • Self-starter working with little direct supervision

  • Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority
