Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
  • Manage nursery care for newborns and collaborate closely with pediatric support as needed
  • Perform and interpret fetal monitoring (stable and intermediate) to ensure maternal-fetal wellbeing
  • Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and participate in neonatal resuscitation when required
  • Serve as an OB circulator when needed to support deliveries and surgical procedures
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately and timely
  • Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, individualized care
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential — position title indicates RN
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications (required)
  • Demonstrated experience in Labor & Delivery with ability to manage antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and nursery care
  • Comfortable with stable and intermediate fetal monitoring
  • OB circulator experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a rural hospital setting and manage an average volume of approximately 20-30 deliveries per month
Education
  • Registered Nurse (RN) — active license required
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong clinical judgment in obstetric and neonatal care
  • Skilled in fetal monitoring and maternal/fetal assessment
  • Proficient in neonatal resuscitation techniques (NRP)
  • Ability to perform ACLS and BLS protocols confidently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Competent documentation and electronic medical record usage
