Experience: Minimum of one year in antepartum or labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care in a level 1 trauma setting.
License: Current RN License
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Must-Have:
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Some computer skills.
Description:
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
Assist the physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients.
Observe physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary.
Administer medication as prescribed.
Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
Deliver patient care competently.
Interact with family and patients in sharing care plans during hospitalization and at discharge.
Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.
Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Delegate tasks to support staff.
