Job description

At The Godsey Law Firm, the negotiation table isn’t just where cases end – it’s where they are won. We know that the negotiation phase is where great cases turn into great results. As a Pre-Litigation Negotiator, you’re not just moving numbers around; you’re extracting the full value of a case, dismantling low-ball offers, and turning strong case foundations into record-setting results.
You will step into the process after our case managers and demand writers have done the groundwork – armed with a well-built demand package and the leverage to drive the negotiation. From there, it’s your strategic thinking, your persuasive skill, and your refusal to accept less than what the case deserves that determines the outcome.
This is not a passive role. You will:
  • Go toe-to-toe with insurance adjusters who make it their job to undervalue claims
  • Leverage every fact, document, and medical record to justify top-dollar settlements
  • Read the adjuster’s playbook and counter with smart, calculated negotiation tactics
  • Collaborate with our legal team to ensure no opportunity to increase case value is missed
In this role, your results are visible -every dollar you secure, every case you push to maximum recovery, every client you deliver justice for reflects your skill and impact. We reward that success. Because when you win, our clients win – and so does the firm.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE
  • High-Impact Work: Your negotiations directly drive case results and client satisfaction
  • Values-Driven Culture: We live by our ACTED values – Accountability, Client First, Teamwork, Excellence, and Diligence
  • Challenging amp; Rewarding: You’ll handle complex negotiations that push you to use your skills at the highest level
  • Growth Opportunity: Work with a firm that rewards results and invests in top talent
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Maximize settlement value by leading negotiations with insurance adjusters and leveraging every case strength
  • Use strategy and persuasion to dismantle low offers and push carriers toward fair, top-dollar settlements
  • Advocate for clients by presenting damages effectively and ensuring every negotiation reflects the true value of their claim
  • Review demand packages and case files thoroughly to identify leverage points and negotiate with confidence
  • Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and demand writers to strengthen case positioning before and during negotiations
WHO THRIVES HERE
  • Results-obsessed closer: You measure success in dollars moved and lives improved – and you hate leaving value on the table
  • Strategi negotiator: You prepare for carrier strengths amp; arguments, anticipate tactics, and effectively counter with data, medicine, and leverage
  • Evidence-led storyteller: You translate client testimony, records, diagnostics, and treatment into a compelling damages narrative that moves numbers
  • Calm under pressure: You stay composed through hard conversations, counters, reset strategy fast, and keep momentum
  • Client-First Communicator: You set expectations clearly, you educate on options, and protect trust while pushing for maximum value
  • Preparation fanatic: You enter every call knowing the file – facts, liens, specials, MRI findings, pain points, future care, and injury impact
  • Escalation-savvy: You know when to escalate internally or pivot toward litigation to unlock movement
  • Collaborative Teammate: You loop in appropriate leaders, attorneys, and other support members to close gaps and sharpen leverage
  • Organized at volume: You manage a busy negotiation docket without missed follow-ups or stalled files
  • Ethical Judgement: You negotiate aggressively while honoring professional and firm standards
  • Continuous Improver: You track outcomes, spot patterns in adjuster behavior, and refine your approach
  • ACTED in action: You live Accountability, Client First, Teamwork, Excellence, and Diligence through visible, daily behaviors
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Experienced negotiators who thrive under pressure and love the challenge of pushing carriers to pay what cases are worth
  • Professionals with 5+ years of personal injury negotiation or insurance bodily injury negotiation experience
  • Strong communicators who can present damages persuasively and manage client expectations
  • Strategic thinkers who anticipate adjuster tactics and find solutions to overcome them
  • High performers who embrace a culture where success is measured by results
READY TO CLOSE BIG?
If you are a negotiator who thrives on achieving outstanding settlements, who brings strategy and grit to every negotiation, and who wants to work in a firm where your results define your success, we want to hear from you.
