Description
This position will assist the Head Football Coach in the conduct of the NCAA Division II men's intercollegiate football program and serve as a position coach on the offense or defense. The primary duty of the part-time Assistant Football Coach is to instruct players in-game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The part-time Assistant Football Coach will also support the recruitment, retention, academic and personal development of the student athletes. At the discretion of the head football coach, this position may serve as an Offensive, Defensive or Special Teams coach.
Position Duties
  • Analyzes performance and instructs players in-game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition.
  • Instruct players individually or in groups demonstrating techniques in football specific to position.
  • Observe players while they perform to determine the need for individual or team improvement.
  • Oversee aspects of offense, defense or special teams with the assistance of football staff.
  • Will coach an offensive, defensive or special teams position as designated by the head football coach.
  • Assists with the recruiting of student-athletes who have the potential to meet the University standards for admission and be successful members of the football team.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of and abides by applicable policies and regulations of the Pace University, the Northeast 10 Conference, and the NCAA, it being understood that your failure to comply with such rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action taken against you by the Northeast 10, or by the NCAA or by Pace University.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Previous college playing and/or coaching experience at the college or high school level required.
  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA DII rules.
  • Travel to away games required.

Work Hours
Exact hours to be determined by the supervisor; generally, up to 20 hours per week; weekend and some evening work will be required. Must be flexible to attend meetings, practices, games and recruiting events.
