Position: Varsity Football Head Coach
Reports To: Athletic Director
  • IHSAA Member School. Currently competing in the Great Lakes Home School Football League, partnered with Lions FC.

Position Overview:
Traders Point Christian Schools is seeking a highly motivated, visionary, and Christ-centered Varsity Football Head Coach to lead and grow our football program. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for developing student-athletes, and a proven ability to build and sustain a football program through recruitment, retention, community engagement, player development, and organizational excellence.
This individual will be responsible for providing leadership for the entire football program (Grades 7-12), while developing student-athletes spiritually, academically, athletically, and personally. The Head Coach must be committed to building a sustainable and competitive program that reflects the mission and values of Traders Point Christian Schools. The varsity football coach at TPCS will work in partnership with Noblesville Lions FC in helping develop and build our football program back to an independent football program. Our Varsity Coach needs to be a part of the development process and growth of our Traders Point Youth Football Program with our TPYFL Coordinator and with our MS/JH Football Coach

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Previous football coaching experience at the high school level or higher preferred.
  • Previous playing experience is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, grow, and sustain an athletic program.
  • Strong understanding of IHSAA rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to recruit, retain, and develop student-athletes.
  • Strong knowledge of football techniques, schemes, fundamentals, and player development.
  • Ability to mentor and disciple student-athletes in a Christ-centered environment.
  • Experience coordinating fundraising efforts and community partnerships.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with administration, coaches, parents, alumni, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong social media and program marketing awareness.
  • Commitment to creating a positive culture emphasizing accountability, discipline, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
  • Must pass all required background checks and comply with school and IHSAA coaching requirements.

Responsibilities:
Program Leadership
  • Serve as the leader and primary representative of the football program.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive football program for grades 7-12.
  • Have involvement and commitment to helping grow and develop our TPYFL with our staff team.
  • Work with the Athletic Director in selecting, organizing, mentoring, and evaluating assistant coaches.
  • Develop annual goals and strategic plans for program growth and sustainability.
  • Join the coaching staff with the Lions Football Club.
  • Working with the Lions FC Club in helping rebuild our High School Football program will be essential
  • Working closely with our MS/JH TPCS Football coach in growing and retaining numbers in the HS team each year
  • Develop and annually evaluate assistant coaches and submit evaluations to the Athletic Director.

Spiritual & Character Development
  • Foster a Christ-centered culture throughout the football program.
  • Encourage the spiritual growth of student-athletes and coaches.
  • Model Christian leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship.
  • Teach leadership, accountability, discipline, teamwork, and respect.
  • Serve as a positive role model both on and off the field.

Recruitment & Retention
The Head Coach will be expected to take an active leadership role in recruiting and retaining student-athletes.
Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting player interest meetings and recruiting events.
  • Developing relationships with prospective students and families.
  • Creating and maintaining a recruiting database of prospective athletes.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with middle school athletes and families.
  • Establishing a strong 8th-grade to high school football pipeline.
  • Personally contacting returning and prospective players throughout the year.
  • Collaborating with admissions and school leadership to support enrollment initiatives.
  • Implementing creative strategies to increase roster participation and long-term retention.

Parent & Community Engagement
  • Lead all football-related communication with families.
  • Conduct preseason and offseason parent meetings.
  • Clearly communicate program expectations, schedules, team culture, and program vision.
  • Provide regular updates to players, parents, and school leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with alumni, donors, and community members.
  • Represent Traders Point Christian Schools positively within the community.
  • Organize community outreach opportunities and service initiatives.

Youth Program Development
  • Develop and support youth football initiatives that create future interest in the football program.
  • Organize youth camps, clinics, and football development opportunities.
  • Explore opportunities for elementary and middle school football participation, including youth flag football initiatives.
  • Engage current players as mentors and ambassadors within youth programming.

Offseason Program Development
  • Create and oversee a year-round football development plan.
  • Collaborate with the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator to establish offseason training programs.
  • Develop position-specific skill development opportunities.
  • Organize offseason team-building events.
  • Promote accountability and participation in offseason activities.
  • Establish measurable participation goals and attendance expectations for committed athletes.

Game & Practice Management
  • Plan and conduct all practices, workouts, game preparation, and contests.
  • Teach football fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
  • Ensure player safety and proper supervision at all team activities.
  • Maintain discipline and accountability standards.
  • Supervise athletes before, during, and after practices, games, and team travel.
  • Carry emergency medical information at all official team functions.
  • Ensure all participants adhere to school, athletic department, and IHSAA expectations.

Fundraising & Program Advancement
  • Develop and execute a football fundraising plan annually.
  • Build relationships with local businesses and community partners.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities that support program needs.
  • Assist in identifying sponsorship opportunities and community partnerships.
  • Promote the football program through marketing and social media efforts.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Submit preseason practice schedules and program calendars in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate team rosters and communicate roster updates.
  • Report contest results to the Athletic Department within 24 hours.
  • Attend required coaches' meetings, organizational meetings, and rules clinics.
  • Complete annual concussion training and all required certifications.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and oversee uniform distribution and collection.
  • Ensure facilities are secured following practices and contests.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and incidents according to school procedures.
  • Coordinate year-end program evaluations, awards, banquet planning, and future program needs assessments.

The Varsity Football Head Coach will be expected to demonstrate:
