Job description

Overview

The Princeton University Art Museum invites applications for a Research Assistant in the field of ancient Mediterranean art, with a preference for a specialty in either Greek or Roman. The candidate will provide research assistance for upcoming exhibitions and projects and will work with the curator on provenance research on works in the collections. Research skills are necessary, as are a background in Greek and/or Roman art and knowledge of ancient Greek and/or Latin. 

This position is temporary.

Responsibilities

The candidate will undertake research on the collections, provide support for projects related to the ancient Mediterranean collection, and will work collaboratively with the curator on exhibition projects that are underway. 

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • ABD status, with a focus on Greek and/or Roman art.
  • Knowledge of ancient Greek and/or Latin required. 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • PhD.
  • Familiarity with TMS.
