Classification Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma, or its equivalent, and one year of related experience.
Job Description:
  • Greet and welcome guests to the museum.
  • Interact with all visitors and staff of the museum in a professional and positive manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service and provide general and directional information to guests.
  • Perform routine patrol of galleries and public spaces.
  • Monitor guest compliance with museum policies and report non-compliance through verbal and written communication.
  • Provide front desk coverage on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide escorts as needed to secure areas within the museum.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment, chairs, and tables for museum activities and events.
  • Practice de-escalation techniques when dealing with aggressive or disruptive behavior.
  • Professionalism, reliability, dependability and adherence to schedules are required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:
$15 per hour
Required Qualifications:
Flexibility for varied schedules to include nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the museum.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in a security and/or customer service role
  • Ability to work as part of a team and project a positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working and communicating with individuals of diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of basic first aid, or CPR/First Aid/AED certification a plus
