We are seeking a Summer Camp Counselor to work with our military youth at Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg, PA Child Development Center. This position is from 6/15/2026 - 8/21/2026. This position has the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children up to preschool age of military service members and their families. Child and youth camps create a safe and fun environment where children can go to learn how to put their military-life strengths to use in their everyday lives. Military and family life counselors can do the following: * Help children process their feelings* Engage in activities with children and youth* Model techniques for behavior management including feedback for staff* Provide additional resource support for child and youth programs staff* Deliver approved briefings, training and presentations for staff and parents* Assist specific families with parenting and child behavior issues.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES* Provide non-medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, and personnel at the summer camp* Attend social engaging activities to provide on the spot support as needed* The counselor works closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION* Minimum of a Master's Degree (MA/MS/MBA) with Behavioral Health as field of study. * Independent Counseling License; licensed at the independent practice level. * Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused child and youth counseling methods. * Minimum of two (2) years of post-masters supervised clinical experience. * Must be able to prove US Citizenship.
