Description

This role is a key part of the Creative Services department in the Marketing division, whose responsibility is to enhance our client's image with consumers and make them aware of our client's brands. This is achieved by providing them with a wide range of products by licensing appropriate trademarks to vendors who can develop and sell those products.

The duties include participating in meetings of current and future strategies within Marketing, Sales, Comms and Training depts and partnering with them to develop meaningful engagement opportunities. The position will make recommendations on new vendors based on trends, and also know when to terminate existing licensees to optimize licensing resources based on performance, administrative difficulty, or other factors.

The position will also monitor licensing contracts and work with vendors and marketing or PR to maximize delivery to the public in terms of timing, scope, quality, and performance. This role requires responsible for managing several special projects with minimal oversight, some of which can take multiple years to fruition and require working with a variety of stakeholders in different Business Units and regions for successful execution. This role will also work with the Law department to assure that the licensed products meet our client's safety regulations, discusses insurance needs with Risk Management, and identifies and discusses intellectual property issues with intellectual property counsel.

This position participates in trade events to understand competition, discover new trends and find potential licenses. After merchandise sales activities or special projects, the position must evaluate using PDCA and make recommendations for changes and countermeasures. In your pursuit of impeccable quality, you set and execute the strategy and manage customer and vendor relations. Your endless curiosity will drive innovative activities.

• Developing leads and identifying potential licensees, negotiating with them on terms approved by management, and then monitoring the contracts, including reviewing licensed product submissions and coordinating with product regulatory counsel, product liability counsel, PRO, and marketing for the submissions

• Formulating policies and operating practices

• Participating in planning and carrying out short- and long-term business objectives

• Generating management reports, creating presentations, handling special projects, and conducting sales analysis and revenue review

• Royalty-management and invoicing

• Reviewing brand internal and external marketing materials

• Support retail sales on location and through special events which fall outside working hours.

• Support ordering, recording, and managing inventory including loss prevention through theft and breakage.

• Helping to create and execute promotional materials for internal and external messaging

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• 7 years in related field, preferably in merchandise sales

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and work with limited direction and use discretion and independent judgment

• Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and communication skills

• Gets along well with others / personable

• Ability to deal with difficult situations

• Ability to pitch for the business and perform public speaking

• Awareness of trends / popularity

• Problem solving

• Ability to draft clear, simple language

• Ability to negotiate

• Diversity of thought and experience to drive innovation and new products, and strategically connect information from a variety of different sources to come up with solutions to multifactor problems Process management skills (such as PDCA)

• Adobe Illustrator and or Photoshop familiarity

• Proficiency in all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

This is a 6 month W2 contract that is fully onsite in Torrance, CA looking to pay $30-$40 per hour

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
