Position Overview
New Garden Landscaping is seeking an experienced Landscape Sales Consultant to drive revenue growth by helping clients enhance and invest in their outdoor spaces. This is a sales-focused role that combines landscape knowledge, horticultural expertise, and client relationship management to deliver customized landscape solutions for residential and commercial clients.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned green industry professional who excels at identifying opportunities, building strong client relationships, and closing sales. While landscape design knowledge is valuable, success in this role is driven by the ability to consult, recommend, and sell landscape enhancements and services that create long-term value for clients.
This position is intended for professionals with hands-on experience in landscaping, horticulture, nursery operations, irrigation, or related green industry fields.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with residential and commercial clients to assess needs and identify landscape improvement opportunities
  • Develop and present recommendations for landscape enhancements, plant material, irrigation, lighting, drainage, and other outdoor solutions
  • Identify plant health concerns, landscape deficiencies, and property improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and deliver proposals for installations, enhancements, and seasonal services
  • Actively promote and sell ongoing landscape maintenance and enhancement programs
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
  • Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and contracts
  • Track leads, opportunities, and sales activity within the company CRM
  • Maintain timely client communication following the 5:10 rule:
    • Same-day response for messages received before 5:00 PM
    • Response by 10:00 AM the next business day for after-hours inquiries
  • Conduct site visits and final walkthroughs to ensure quality and client satisfaction
  • Represent the company professionally in all client and networking interactions
  • Participate in networking and business development opportunities to generate new leads

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the green industry (landscaping, horticulture, nursery management, irrigation, landscape design, or related field)
  • Proven ability or strong aptitude for sales in a consultative environment
  • Solid knowledge of landscape practices, plant material, and outdoor enhancement solutions
  • Experience with landscape design concepts and the ability to translate ideas into sellable solutions
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized with excellent time management abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license
