Job description

TSC's is seeking a Temporary Assembler at our Huntsville, AL Discovery location to support our production division.

Responsibilities:

Performs basic and intricate electronic/electro-mechanical assembly functions on prototype and production type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or client specifications. Assists in the development and wiring of engineering models and in the development of assembly methods and wire lists. Uses hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together and align them properly. May assist in instructing and training lower-level assemblers. Reads and interprets wiring lists and assembly drawings and works to work orders using visual aids, ECNs, and schematics. May perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures and may set up and operate automatic prepping, loading, and insertion equipment. The employee may frequently be required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and 1+ years of production and/or assembly experience or Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • US Citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and procedures to ensure components are assembled per specifications

Preferred:

  • Experience assembling sub-assemblies using hand tools and basic power tools with attention to accuracy and quality

  • Experience inspecting work during assembly to identify and correct defects in real time

  • Knowledge of IPC Standards/Practices i.e. IPC-610, IPC-J-STD, IPC-620

  • Ability to test printed wiring boards (PWBs) in accordance with defined test procedures

Work Schedule: 7am-3:30pm
