Job description

If you are someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, with an amazing team that supports an amazing mission, you might be interested in a position as the Production Lead! This is a full-time position that will work primarily in the warehouse and Outlet at our Headquarters location in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Production Lead works closely with the Salvage Manager to oversee Goodwill's baling and salvage operations. Recycling is our secondary mission at Goodwill of the Heartland, and the Production Lead helps Goodwill keep clothing items that don't sell in the stores out of the landfill.
The Production Lead will supervise, instruct, and train temporary employees and Goodwill team members in salvage sorting and textile baling. The Production Lead will complete accurate payroll records for Temporary employees, perform accurate inventory reporting, and perform Production reporting.
The Production Lead is required to operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and move materials to designated areas in the warehouse, maintaining an orderly work area.

Qualifications:
  • Two years of full-time employment in a related field, including at least one year in a management/supervisor role preferred
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to complete light to moderate physical work that includes standing, sitting, lifting, and carrying, requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Successful completion of background screening: valid Iowa driver's license, auto insurance, motor vehicle record, and sex offender.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of how to operate how a forklift.

The Production Lead will be scheduled for 40 hours per week, typically between 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday. This position has a starting wage of $20.17 per hour.
