Powder Coater -- Up to $24

Job Description

This role involves applying powder coating material to metal parts using a powder coating gun in a clean, modern metal fabrication shop. You will work with parts positioned at varying heights, follow blueprints and measurements, and support general labor and assembly tasks as part of a production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Use a powder coating gun to spray powder coat material onto metal parts according to specifications.
  • Prepare and hang metal parts at heights ranging from approximately 5 feet in the air to just a few inches off the ground.
  • Move up and down, including standing, crouching, and bending, to ensure complete and even coverage of each part.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to understand coating requirements and part specifications.
  • Accurately read and use a tape measure to verify dimensions and ensure proper placement and coverage.
  • Perform general labor tasks to support production, including handling materials and organizing parts for coating.
  • Carry out mechanical and general assembly tasks as needed within the assembly department.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a production environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow shop safety and quality procedures.
  • Work independently while coordinating with the broader production team to meet daily and weekly output goals.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 6+ months of experience working in a production environment.
  • Minimum 6+ months of experience using power tools in a work setting.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and bend consistently while operating a powder coat gun.

Work Environment

Standard hours are 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with occasional overtime on Fridays as needed. The environment involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal equipment, as well as frequent standing, crouching, and bending to coat parts hung at various heights. Dress will be typical of a metal fabrication shop, suitable for hands-on work with metal, tools, and coating equipment.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
