In a farm hand summer job, you assist with an array of duties on a farm from June-August. Your responsibilities as a temporary farm hand include feeding and tending to the livestock and animals, sowing crops and cultivating the soil, performing maintenance on farm equipment, planting seeds and other plants on the farm, and performing chemical spraying and slashing activities to help control weeds. Your other duties as a summer farm hand may include milking the cows and preparing milking machinery, ensuring that the animals are getting sufficient exercise and grooming, picking cultivated crops, and herding cattle and sheep.
