Epic Inpatient Orders & ASAP Analyst

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic Inpatient Orders & ASAP Analyst to join our healthcare IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing the Epic Inpatient Orders and Epic ASAP modules. The candidate will collaborate with emergency department clinicians, physicians, nurses, pharmacy, and technical teams to streamline inpatient order management and emergency care workflows while ensuring efficient and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain, and support the Epic Inpatient Orders and Epic ASAP applications.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and clinical requirements from emergency department, inpatient, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Design, build, test, validate, and deploy application enhancements and system changes.
  • Configure and support inpatient order entry, computerized provider order entry (CPOE), emergency department workflows, order sets, clinical documentation, and care coordination.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely production support.
  • Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and enhancement projects.
  • Perform unit testing, integrated testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Develop and maintain build documentation, workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and user documentation.
  • Collaborate with other Epic application analysts to ensure seamless integration with EpicCare Inpatient, Willow, Radiant, Beaker, Ambulatory, and other Epic modules.
  • Ensure all configurations comply with Epic best practices, healthcare regulations, and organizational standards.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Epic Inpatient Orders and Epic ASAP.
  • Epic Inpatient Orders and/or Epic ASAP Certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in Epic build, configuration, implementation, testing, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of inpatient clinical workflows, computerized provider order entry (CPOE), emergency department operations, clinical documentation, and patient care processes.
  • Experience supporting integrated Epic clinical applications.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Epic Inpatient Orders and/or Epic ASAP Certification (Mandatory)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Epic Inpatient Orders/ASAP experience
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in U.S. healthcare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency department operations, inpatient care, clinical order management, and interdisciplinary workflows.
  • Experience integrating Epic Inpatient Orders and ASAP with Willow, Radiant, Beaker, Ambulatory, MyChart, and other Epic modules.
  • Understanding of Epic implementation methodology and healthcare interoperability.
  • Familiarity with clinical decision support, order sets, alerts, and workflow optimization.
  • Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
