How much do temporary enrolled agent jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 14, 2026, the average yearly pay for temporary enrolled agent in the United States is $72,507.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $52,500.00 and $81,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How to be an enrolled agent with no experience?

To become a temporary enrolled agent, you must pass the IRS Special Enrollment Examination (SEE), which tests knowledge of tax laws and procedures. While prior experience is not required, having a background in accounting or tax preparation can be helpful; completing IRS-approved continuing education courses can also support your qualification process.

Can EAs represent clients in court?

Enrolled Agents (EAs) are authorized to represent clients before the IRS in audits, collections, and appeals. However, they cannot represent clients in court proceedings such as tax litigation or criminal cases, which require a licensed attorney. EAs primarily handle tax-related matters within administrative settings rather than judicial courts.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

A Temporary Enrolled Agent typically does not earn $4,000 a week, as this role involves providing tax representation and usually offers hourly or project-based pay. High-paying jobs that can reach this level without a degree often include specialized trades like commercial pilot, real estate broker, or certain sales roles, which may require certifications or licenses but not necessarily a college degree.
