Job Title: IT Desktop Services Technician (Hardware & Lifecycle Management)
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Desktop Services Technician to manage the full lifecycle of our corporate computing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of workstations and peripheral hardware. You will serve as a technical anchor for the team, ensuring that computer images are optimized, inventory is accurately tracked, and out-of-date equipment is processed according to industry standards. This position is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on hardware work, systems imaging, and collaborative end-user support.
Key Responsibilities
• Deployment & Installation: Configure and install desktops, laptops, peripherals, and corporate-standard software suites for a diverse user base.
• Image Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of standardized corporate computer images to ensure consistent deployment across all hardware models.
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Coordinate the return of leased equipment and manage the secure preparation of legacy hardware for donation or disposal.
• Inventory Control: Maintain a rigorous inventory of all computing assets and components to support procurement and forecasting.
• Strategic Advisory: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the selection of future hardware and the development of IT policies and best practices.
• Technical Support: Partner with the senior support team to provide high-quality end-user troubleshooting, documenting all issues and resolutions in accordance with corporate standards.
• Team Collaboration: Act as a technical resource and mentor, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent professional training and experience will also be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of full-time professional experience in Information Technology.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong grasp of hardware fundamentals and software troubleshooting.
• Experience with system imaging tools and asset management software.
• Microsoft Certifications (e.g., MD-102) are a significant plus.
• Attributes:
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong time-management and independent problem-solving capabilities.
