Job description

President/CEO

Reliant Community Federal Credit Union

Sodus, NY

USA

Position Description

Lead with Purpose. Inspire Growth. Strengthen Communities.

Do You Belong Here?

Reliant Credit Union is seeking an engaging, visionary, and community-minded executive to serve as its next President/Chief Executive Officer. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a financially strong, purpose-driven organization that has earned the trust of more than 49,000 members while continuing to invest boldly in its future.

With approximately $795 million in assets, 175 dedicated employees, and a growing presence throughout Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne Counties, Reliant Credit Union has built a reputation for delivering exceptional financial services while remaining deeply connected to the communities it serves. Reliant welcomes anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or volunteers within its field of membership, creating a broad and diverse opportunity to serve individuals, families, and businesses across the region.

The Board of Directors is seeking a leader who sees today's success not as a destination, but as a foundation for what's next. While the organization is financially healthy and well-positioned for the future, the Board believes the greatest opportunities still lie ahead.

This is an opportunity for a leader who is energized by growth, inspired by community, and committed to ensuring Reliant Credit Union remains the financial institution people choose - not simply because it's available, but because it consistently delivers exceptional value, service, and leadership.

Is Your Purpose to Serve With Passion?

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President/CEO serves as the organization's chief executive, strategic advisor, and cultural leader. This individual is responsible for establishing and executing the long-term vision of the credit union while ensuring continued financial strength, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional experience for members and employees alike.

Reliant's strategic priorities are clear: grow membership, elevate the brand, optimize technology, invest in people, and deepen community relationships. The next President/CEO will provide the leadership necessary to bring these priorities to life while ensuring the credit union remains financially strong and well-positioned for sustainable long-term growth.

A key role of the President/CEO is to be the primary champion of culture and employee experience. You will model mentorship and employee development, encouraging best-in-class employee engagement, including career growth, competitive compensation, and employee benefits.

The Board views growth as a mindset rather than a destination. Asset size is viewed as a starting pointโ€” not a limitationโ€”and the successful candidate will identify thoughtful opportunities to expand the credit union's reach, deepen member relationships, and strengthen Reliant's position within an evolving marketplace. Success will not simply be measured by balance sheet growth, but by the organization's ability to create lasting value for members, employees, and the communities it serves.

The Board also recognizes that strategic investments require patience. Whether expanding branch facilities, modernizing offices, investing in technology, or enhancing the member experience, the organization is willing to make thoughtful decisions that may temporarily impact traditional performance metrics when those investments strengthen the credit union for the future. The next CEO should share this long-term perspective while maintaining disciplined financial stewardship.

How Will We Grow Together?

Reliant Credit Union believes exceptional organizations are built through exceptional people. The next President/CEO will champion a culture focused on attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent. The Board also values a leadership style rooted in collaboration and transparency. Executive leaders are encouraged to share their expertise, actively participate in Board discussions, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

The next President/CEO will understand emerging consumer expectations, embrace innovative products and digital solutions, and position the credit union to become the financial institution of choice for the next generation.

Successful candidates will bring a minimum of 7โ€“10 years of progressive executive leadership experience within a credit union, community bank, or other financial institution, along with a demonstrated record of strategic leadership, financial stewardship, organizational development, community engagement, regulatory compliance, and Board partnership. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree or executive-level certifications are preferred.

If you're excited by the opportunity to lead a growing organization, inspire exceptional people, strengthen communities, and shape the future of one of New York's most respected credit unions, we would love to hear from you.
