Job description

American Heritage Credit Union, a $5+B credit union, is looking for its next Chief Financial Officer to serve as a senior executive responsible for the organization's financial leadership and fiscal integrity. We're seeking a strategic, hands-on CFO to lead the financial direction a growing credit union, its network of CUSOs, and affiliated foundation. This executive will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, guiding financial strategy, performance, and risk while overseeing accounting, corporate financial planning and reporting, ALM, ALCO, treasury, enterprise risk, and electronic fund services. The CFO plays a key role in cross-functional initiatives, including strategic planning, product and pricing decisions, and leads the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning aligned with growth, capital, and liquidity goals. This role ensures strong financial governance, including GAAP and NCUA compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness, and drives balance sheet optimization through data-driven insights and scenario analysis. The CFO will lead and develop a high-performing finance team, partner with regulators, auditors, and vendors, and support enterprise risk management efforts and electronic fund services across the organization.
Candidates should be well-credentialed and skilled with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field. CPA required; MBA, CFA or advanced certification preferred). 7-10+ years of progressive financial leadership in a regulated financial institution, preferably within a credit union or community bank. Deep expertise of GAAP, NCUA regulations, ALM, and financial modeling is essential, along with strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts for executive and Board audiences.
