As a Line Cook, you will serve within our ministry by performing various food preparation duties.

Full Time | Mid Shift

Wednesday - Sunday

10am-6pm

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide variety of foods for 300 + people

  • Follow a recipe and improvise when there is a shortage of ingredients

  • Prepare components of each dish from our menu

  • Can adhere to serving portion sizes and basic meal prep procedures

  • Set up and breakdown workstations to serve meals, while adhering to a schedule

  • Ensure that all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet the required established standards

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining area as required by established  standards

  • Work with a team of clients, temp, and/or volunteers to do prep work for other shifts

  • Monitor product freshness and rotate dates using the FIFO method (First In, First Out)

  • Monitors, organizes, disperses, and properly stores inventory

  • Leads clients, temps, and/or volunteers when the Supervisor is not present

  • Assist in loading the van for lunch and dinner transport

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of food service operation experience

  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Flexible with menus and meal prep and can problem-solve when ingredients are not available

  • Ability to receive and incorporate instruction, feedback, and coaching effectively.

  • Clean MVR Record

Certification and License Requirements:

  • ServSafe certification preferred

  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for eight hours or more a day

  • Must be able to communicate accurate information

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs

  • Comfortable working in both hot kitchen environments and cold, cooler, and freezer environments.

Environmental Job Requirements:

  • Moderate noise as in a kitchen  environment

  • Medium exposure to communicable diseases as outlined by OSHA
