WHAT WILL YOU DO
Thompson Energy Solutions, a division of Thompson Machinery and the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Middle and West Tennessee and North Mississippi, is seeking a Power Systems Sales Representative based in Middle Tennessee. This role is responsible for selling Caterpillar power generation products and services to existing customers while developing new business to meet territory and company sales goals. Products include generator sets, automatic transfer switches, switchgear and controls, microgrids, solar, and energy storage solutions.
Responsibilities
• Manage and grow sales of standby backup generator systems within an assigned territory
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while developing new accounts
• Identify customer needs for emergency and backup power solutions
• Provide basic technical guidance on standby generator systems, including configuration and application
• Coordinate equipment sizing and specifications with engineers, contractors, and customers
• Work closely with the Power Systems Sales Manager to support territory and growth objectives

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience selling electric power generation equipment or managing power generation projects
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
• Experience working with electrical drawings and specifications (one-lines, layouts, riser diagrams, etc.)
• Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related software
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable discussing technical solutions with engineers, customers, and senior leadership
