About the Role:
As an Electrical Engineering Engineer, you will be responsible for the coordination, support, and technical execution of projects and customer orders related to CAT gas engine systems. In this role, you will manage electrical engineering activities throughout the entire project lifecycle, from the initial concept and basic engineering phase through detailed engineering, installation, commissioning, and final acceptance. You will plan, design, and engineer electrical systems for power generation applications, ensuring that all technical solutions meet project requirements, customer expectations, and applicable industry standards.

What You Will Do:
  • Developing comprehensive electrical and control system concepts, covering medium- and low-voltage systems, power distribution networks, protection systems, and control technologies
  • A key part of the role involves preparing and reviewing electrical documentation, including circuit diagrams, technical specifications, load calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination studies, and other engineering documents required for project execution.
  • Ensure that all engineering deliverables are technically accurate, compliant with relevant regulations, and aligned with project schedules
  • Work closely with internal engineering disciplines, including mechanical engineering, process engineering, and automation teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into the overall plant design including battery systems
  • Effective coordination between departments and suppliers will be essential to achieving technical and commercial project objectives
  • The position also requires regular communication and technical alignment with customers, suppliers, consultants, and regulatory authorities
  • Provide technical expertise during project meetings, clarify customer requirements, evaluate supplier proposals, and support the resolution of technical issues throughout project execution
  • Provide technical support during equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and final acceptance activities. This includes troubleshooting electrical and control systems, verifying compliance with functional requirements, and ensuring the reliable operation of marine engine and power generation equipment.

Additional Requirements:
  • The successful candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline. Required 10 years of professional experience in the planning, design, and engineering of electrical systems, ideally within industrial facilities, power plants, marine applications, or large-scale plant engineering projects.
  • Possess solid technical knowledge of medium- and low-voltage systems, electrical protection schemes, power distribution systems, and applicable international standards such as IEC and NEC. Experience in electrical calculations, system design, and documentation management is essential.
  • Proficient in the use of engineering and design software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD tools for the preparation of electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • A strong understanding of control engineering principles and fieldbus communication systems, including Modbus RTU/TCP and CANbus, is highly desirable.
  • As the position requires extensive interaction with customers, suppliers, and international project teams, you demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills and can present technical topics confidently in a professional environment.
  • Willing to travel internationally for project-related activities, including customer meetings, site visits, commissioning support, and acceptance testing, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 20% of working time.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
