Overview

UE Manufacturing is Now Hiring Engineering a Project Manager Power Generation located at 10000 NW 2nd, Oklahoma City, OK 73127.ย We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedย Project Manager / Engineerย with deep technical expertise inย large-scale diesel and natural gas generator systems (1.5 MW and above). This role is critical in managing the design, engineering, procurement, and execution of backup and primary power generation projects across industrial, commercial, and utility-scale applications.ย 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Any one position may not include all the listed duties, nor do all the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification.ย 

  • Lead and manage end-to-end project execution for power generation systems, from concept through commissioning.
  • Serve as theย technical subject matter expert (SME)ย for diesel and natural gas generator systems, including paralleling switchgear, load management, and emissions compliance.
  • Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and drawings for generator installations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including sales, procurement, field service, and external contractors.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and risk management plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new installations or upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including NFPA, NEC, EPA, and utility interconnection standards.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of generator systems.
  • Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, vendors, and clients to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
  • Define project scope and requirements, ensuring alignment with client needs and technical specifications.ย 
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget estimations.ย 
  • Schedule and facilitate design reviews based on milestones set during project.
  • Ensure design review notes are compiled, vetted for necessity and implemented into scope if required.
  • Identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.ย 
  • Assemble and lead a cross-functional project team, including mechanical & electrical engineers, designers, technicians, and subcontractors.ย 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Systems Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in power generation, with a focus onย 2.5 MW+ diesel and natural gas generator systems.
  • Proven track record of managing complex power generation projects from design through commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of generator control systems, paralleling switchgear, and load sharing technologies.
  • Familiarity with Tier 4 Final emissions standards and natural gas fuel systems.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Experience:ย ย ย 

  • Experience with generator brands such asย Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, Kohler, or Generac Industrial Power.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, remote monitoring, and digital twin technologies.
  • Background in microgrid or hybrid power systems integration.
