Job description
Burke is seeking a detail-oriented, organized Part-Time Temporary Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting activities for two business entities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, and supporting month-end close activities while working closely the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Process and maintain daily accounting transactions for two business entities.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Monitor and maintain fixed asset records.
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and prepare payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Generate customer invoices and apply incoming payments.
- Follow up on outstanding customer balances as needed.
- Assist with customer credit applications and vendor setup.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
- Assist with special accounting projects as assigned.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience and proficiency with QuickBooks
- Experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
